Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 23, 2026
River Church (“River Church,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information in connection with our website, online forms, email communications, and related church services. “Personal information” means information that identifies, relates to, or can reasonably be linked to an individual.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you voluntarily provide, including your name, email address, optional telephone number, and the contents of contact, prayer, support, or volunteer-interest submissions. Depending on the service, you may also provide ministry interests, mailing-list preferences, or information associated with a donation or payment. Prayer and support requests may contain sensitive personal information. Please provide only information relevant to your request and avoid including financial account details or unnecessary information about yourself or others in general website forms.
Our website and service providers may collect technical and usage information, including IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, referring pages, approximate location, and interactions with website content. Our email service also provides information about email opens and link clicks.
2. Use of Personal Information
We use personal information to respond to inquiries, provide prayer and pastoral support, coordinate volunteer and ministry involvement, administer giving and payments, maintain church records, deliver communications you have requested or authorized, and understand and improve our website and communications. We do not sell or rent personal information or share it with advertisers for targeted advertising.
3. Form Access and Prayer Requests
Direct access to website form submissions is limited to church staff and the service provider through which the forms are processed. Church staff share only relevant prayer requests with members of our prayer team, which includes volunteers who are not church employees. Prayer-team volunteers do not have direct access to the forms or the complete submission records.
Prayer requests are kept within church staff and the prayer team unless the person submitting the request gives permission to share them with others. This confidentiality practice is subject to disclosures required by applicable law or lawful legal process.
4. Service Providers and External Services
We use Framer for website hosting, website form processing, and built-in website analytics; Constant Contact for mailing-list communications and email engagement reports; and Google Analytics for website analytics. We also use Tithely and Breeze in connection with church services, including Breeze for online giving and payments. Our website uses Vimeo for video content and Google Maps for location information.
These providers may process personal information in connection with the services they provide. When you make a donation or payment through an external giving service, the information you enter is processed through that service. Third-party websites, embedded content, and services may collect information under their own privacy notices and terms. This Policy describes River Church’s practices and does not replace those providers’ privacy notices.
5. Email Communications
We add you to our mailing list only if you separately sign up or give us permission. Submitting a contact, prayer, support, or volunteer-interest form does not automatically subscribe you to our mailing list. You may unsubscribe using the link included in our mailing-list emails or by contacting us.
We use Constant Contact’s reports on email opens and link clicks to understand engagement and improve our communications. These reports rely on tracking technologies, including email tracking pixels and tracked links. When you unsubscribe, we retain your contact record with an unsubscribed status to prevent future mailing-list emails rather than deleting that record.
6. Cookies and Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use our website and to improve its content. This includes pages visited, general device and location information, clicks on directions, phone and giving links, successful form submissions, and interactions with sermon videos.
Our custom form tracking records which form was submitted and whether it succeeded. It does not read or send the names, email addresses, phone numbers, messages, prayer requests, or other information entered into form fields to Google Analytics. We do not use Google Analytics for personalized advertising.
Google Analytics is enabled by default and may load when you visit our website. It uses cookies and similar technologies unless blocked by your browser or another privacy tool. We do not currently offer an on-site cookie preference control.
Google Analytics retention settings are currently two months for event data and fourteen months for user data. New activity may restart the user-data retention period. Aggregated reports may be retained longer.
Framer’s built-in website analytics does not use cookies. Embedded services, such as Vimeo, may separately collect technical information or use cookies under their own privacy notices.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. This may affect some website features and does not necessarily prevent every form of data collection. Google also provides these resources:
7. Retention of Information
River Church retains website form submissions indefinitely unless you request deletion. Staff will delete your submission after verifying your request as described below. Giving and payment records are retained indefinitely. Unsubscribed mailing-list contact records are retained to honor email opt-out preferences. These records are subject to different retention practices from website analytics data.
8. Privacy Requests
You may contact Pastor Robert at the email address below to request access to or correction of your personal information, or deletion of a website form submission. To protect your information, we verify requests through the email address used in the original submission before acting on them. Please identify the submission or information involved without including unnecessary sensitive details. Requests concerning information held independently by an external service provider may also need to be addressed to that provider.
9. Security
Church staff use individual password-protected accounts with two-factor authentication. We limit direct access to form submissions as described above. No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or applicable requirements. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
